The The by Zebadiah Keneally

The The serves to celebrate the beauty of the basic elements of printed communication. Created using simple, repetitive bookmaking techniques and a CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) color scheme-the primary colors of printed material-the work draws attention to vital elements from which rich complexities are achieved. The triangle shape of the work echoes its folds and provides a wealth of historical symbolism as well as visual complexities from shadows cast as The The hangs on a wall. However, it is not meant to be a didactic piece; the title has been chosen for its ambiguity, to allow one to interpret the work as is necessary and relevant. Created in 2007 in an edition of three.

Zebadiah Keneally, who was born and raised in Stratford, Connecticut, studies printmaking in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. Having been exposed to fine arts in various forms when a child, he began his creative exploration by drawing and writing graffiti before commencing formal study in printmaking. Zebadiah works primarily in drawing and printmaking; however he paints and continues to explore other mediums of expression. His work has been displayed several times at Spark Contemporary Art Space in Syracuse, as well as in the Drawing Room at the University. He has also shown in Fairfield, Connecticut, and in the Southern Graphics Counsel trade exchange portfolio.
