Broadside Press

Founded in Detroit in 1965 by poet and reference librarian Dudley Randall (1914–2000), Broadside Press, according to its Web site, “has promoted the written word as a vital art form intimately related to self-determination, and used the publishing of literature as a vehicle for building communities and promoting cultural critique.” The mission of Broadside Press, a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization, continues through a wide variety of programs and events that foster the creation and enjoyment of literature.
