Services Information
Articles to Go provides electronic delivery of articles or book chapters scanned from the Libraries' print periodical collection, microfilm/fiche collection, or book collection and is free to current SU faculty, staff and graduate students. Electronic delivery of scans from items housed in the Syracuse University Libraries' Storage Facility is available to all patrons. Most articles will be delivered within two business days. Requests can be placed using the ILLiad system.

Library to Go Campus Delivery Service provides faculty with the delivery of library books, DVDs/Videos, CDs, interlibrary loan items, and books that have been requested (holds and recalls) to campus academic department offices.
Submit a Request

Search the Classic Catalog to locate the desired item.

If the item has a status of Available, click the Request Delivery link.

Log in using your SU NetID and password.

All information is automatically imported. Add notes or additional information, if needed. Click Submit Request.
Return Library Materials
Library to Go Campus Delivery Service staff will also retrieve materials to be returned to the library. Simply complete this Pick up request form indicating the departmental office where the materials are located.
Retrieval from the Nancy Cantor Warehouse
The Syracuse University Libraries Facility is a newly constructed 20,000 square foot high-density storage facility that will house approximately 1.2 million volumes. Service to the material includes next-business day delivery Sunday through Friday. Journal articles are scanned and delivered electronically and physical items are delivered to Bird Library for pick-up. Visit the Syracuse University Libraries Facility page for more information.
- Search for the book in the Classic Catalog.
- Click the Request This Item link under Location.
- Log in using your SU NetID and password. (Non-SU Affiliated users see below.)
- Click Request Item from SU Library Facility
- Enter the barcode from your SU I.D. Note: You must enter all 10 digits of the SU I.D. barcode. If you are a faculty member and would like to have the item sent to your department office through the Library-to-Go Campus Delivery Service, indicate that in the Comment field, otherwise the item will be held for you at the Bird Library Circulation Desk.
- Click Submit.
- Your request will appear under My Account in the Classic Catalog.
- Books will be delivered to the Bird Library Circulation Desk and held under your name.
- Search for the journal title in the Classic Catalog
- Click the Request Scan of Article link in the item's status information.
- Click the button to indicate the volume number of the journal that you need.
- Choose I am a Syracuse University student, faculty, staff and/or have a NetID and click Continue.
(Non-SU Affiliated users see below.) - Log in to the ILLiad system using your SU NetID and password.
- Within ILLiad, complete the article citation information including the volume, issue, date, title, and author name.
- Click Submit.
- You will receive an email with a link to the scanned article. Click the link provided in the email to go directly to the article. You can also log in to your ILLiad account and click the Electronically Received Articles link.
Instructions for Non-SU Affiliates - Book Request
- Search for for the book in the Classic Catalog.
- Click the Request This Item link in the book's location information.
- Click the Storage Retrieval Request Form link.
- Fill out the Facility Retrieval Request form.
- Confirm the item details and click Submit.
- You will be notified when the item is ready for pick-up at the Bird Library Circulation Desk. Non-affiliated users will have in-library use of items delivered from the Syracuse University Libraries Facility. Individuals with Guest Borrower privileges may check items out.
Instructions for Non-SU Affiliates - Article Request
- Search for the journal title in the Classic Catalog.
- Click the Request Scan of Article link in the item's status information.
- Click the button to indicate the volume number of the journal that you need.
- Choose I am not affiliated with Syracuse University and click continue.
- Complete the Article Scan Request form
- Click Submit
- An email will be sent to you with a link to the scanned article.
