Biography

Dr. Jules Setnor (1911-2012) was a physician and a 1935 graduate of Syracuse University's medical school. He and his wife, Rose, met at Syracuse University and were generous benefactors to their alma mater. Their 1997 donation to the University resulted in the dedication of the Jules R., Rose, and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music, as well as the Setnor Auditorium in their honor. In 2005, the Setnors gave a substantial gift to State University of New York Upstate Medical University to build the Rose and Jules R. Setnor and Stanford S. Setnor Academic Building. Jules Setnor received Syracuse University's Orange Circle Award in 2009, which recognizes altruistic members of the University community who have done extraordinary things in the service of others.
