Biography

George A. Patten (1909-1997) is an alumnus of Syracuse University and graduated in 1931. Patten worked at the Miller Paper Company part time during college then full time after graduating, retiring in 1973 as vice president. He was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Alumni Association for 63 years and the Alpha Tau Omega Aid fund for 35 years. Patten was active in the organization of alumni reunions at Syracuse University. He participated in his community as a member of the South Presbyterian church, Cross Roads Lodge, and senior corps of retired executives as well as the past master of Salina Lodge. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.


Scope and Content Note

The George Patten Papers consist of correspondence, notes, brochures, and programs regarding the 25th, 30th, 35th, 40th, 50th, and 55th Syracuse University class reunions for the class of 1931 as well as memorabilia including buttons and two orange and blue alumni beanies.
