Biography

Graduation Photograph of Gertrude Parker

Gertrude Parker (1905-1986) was a Class of 1927 alumnae of Syracuse University. From Canajoharie, New York, a town between Utica and Albany, Parker was born on September 24, 1905. She attended Syracuse University and graduated with a Liberal Arts degree from the Liberal Arts College. During her time at Syracuse University, Parker was involved with the Outing Club, Class Executive Committee, the English Club, Education Club and Syracuse Chorus. She married G. Lynn Alkinburg and later died on January 25, 1986.


Scope and Content Note

The Gertrude Parker Papers contain materials related to her time as a student at Syracuse University. In the collection are a scrapbook and loose scrapbook pages that originated from another scrapbook. Materials within the scrapbook and scrapbook pages include photographs, programs from University events and souvenirs from events she attended as a student. Other materials include dance cards, correspondence, clippings, Wieting Opera House programs, football programs, a 1923-1924 Syracuse University handbook, a 1923 commencement program, and a 1924 bulletin of Syracuse University.
