Biography

Florence Oropallo (maiden name Spore) was a student who graduated with a degree in Home Economics-Applied Arts from Syracuse University in 1944. She grew up in Voorheesville, New York. Oropallo worked at the Daily Orange from 1941 to 1942. She married Anthony Oropallo sometime after graduating from Syracuse.


Scope and Content Note

The Florence Oropallo Papers contains personal items of Oropallo as a student and alumna of Syracuse University. This collection is separated into the following series:

Memorabilia contains souvenirs and alumni-related items such as Syracuse University felt banners.

Photographs consists of color photographic prints of Syracuse’s campus as well as class reunion events and fellow alumni such as actor Jerry Stiller (Class of 1950) and cartoonist Brad Anderson (Class of 1951).

Publications contains University-issued booklets and directories produced during Oropallo’s undergraduate career at Syracuse.

Reunion materials contains papers and items from the class reunions attended by Oropallo in 1979, 1984, 1989, and 2004.
