Biography

Nancy Fowler (b. 1932) is a Syracuse University alumna. She attended from 1950 to 1954 and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Fowler was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority and participated in the Women’s Athletic Association and the Onondagan yearbook. Post-graduation, she lived for a few years in New York City and worked in the art department of Good Housekeeping magazine, after which she returned to suburban Chicago and married Donald Puls.

Scope and Content Note

The Nancy Fowler Papers contains correspondence, artwork, and other materials that document her life during and after her time at Syracuse University. Fowler’s letters home to family are a vivid description of college life at Syracuse University in the 1950s and she created much of the artwork in the collection as a student. Her father's correspondence contains replies to his daughter and communications from Syracuse University and Pi Beta Phi about Fowler's attendance and membership.
