Biography

Howard G. DeVoe (1918-2002) was a student at Syracuse University from 1948 to 1951. DeVoe was a veteran and attended college under the GI Bill. He graduated from the School of Engineering with a degree in civil engineering.

Scope and Content Note

The Howard G. DeVoe Papers include a set of four tuition ledger cards, civil engineering student news bulletins, and materials for a summer surveying camp through the College of Applied Science. The ledger cards are from his first two years of schooling at Syracuse University and indicate his veteran status and the cost of tuition as a veteran. The summer surveying camp materials also include a veteran textbook and supply voucher, along with a notebook and graded classwork. The civil engineering news bulletins postdate his time as a student and the first bulletin indicates alumni of the program were the intended audience.
