Biography

Harold Fisher Brooks II was a student at Syracuse University from 1940-1942 and from 1946-1948. He attended Syracuse University from 1940-1942 before entering military service as an Air Operations Specialist. After his military service, Brooks returned to Syracuse University in 1946 and graduated in 1948. During his first two years at Syracuse University, Brooks created, produced, and sold a picture calendar of the university called Syracuse in Portrait. The calendar was sold in the bookstore, the corner store, and around campus.


Scope and Content Note

The Harold Fisher Brooks II Papers spans from 1939 to 1949 and is made up of three series.

The Academics series contains course notes, papers, and other materials created or used by Brooks during his time as a student at Syracuse University.

The Biographical materials series is made up of portraits and photocopies of portraits of Brooks as a student and during military service as well as his resume.

The Syracuse in portrait series contains materials related to Brook's production, marketing, and sales of the Syracuse in Portrait calendar.

Materials were donated in several installments in 2007 and 2010 to the University Archives by Carol Brooks Thomas.
