Historical Note

The Art Photography Program is within the Transmedia Department in the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University. The Art Photography graduate program is a three-year program; each semester students are required to participate in an Art Photography seminar where graduates in all years of their graduate program share their work and projects. First years, second years, and third-year students all participate, critique, and share artist statements. Each semester, one of the four Art Photography faculty rotate to teach this class. Professor Laura Heyman led this 2017 Spring Semester Seminar. Graduate students and Professor Heyman traded prints during this print trade, and as a result, participating students left with a portfolio of work from their peers and Professor Heyman's work.
