Historical Note

Photograph of Loudoun-Montgomery Primary School Artwork

The Loudoun-Montgomery Primary School, part of the Irvine Royal Academy Integrated Community School cluster, serves the Fullarton area of North Ayrshire in Scotland. The school is organized into six classes, including a nursery school. Located in the southwest of Irvine, Loudon-Montgomery Primary School is also relatively near Lockerbie, Scotland, the community where Pan Am Flight 103 crashed after being destroyed by a terrorist bomb on December 21, 1988.

In 2009, the students of Loudoun-Montgomery Primary School produced an art exhibit in remembrance of the 35 students lost in the bombing while returning home from studying abroad through Syracuse University's Division of International Programs Abroad (DIPA). This collection contains those pieces of artwork, as well as photographs from the time at which the donation was made.
