Biographical History
Sarah Savage (1644-1752) was an English woman best known for her personal memoirs. Born Sarah Henry in Flintshire, England, she married John Savage in 1687 and moved to Wrenbury-Wood near Nantwich, Cheshire County. She wrote often of religion, her own spiritual contemplation, and daily happenings in her life. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Savage moved to West Bromich and there died on February 27, 1752.
Scope and Contents of the Collection
The Sarah Savage Diary consists of one manuscript volume, an early copy of Sarah Savage's diary made circa 1800 by an unknown copyist. The copyist notes his acquaintence with Mrs. Savage and adds genealogical information. The volume begins at page 211, and is presumably the latter part of a longer work.
