Biographical History

Nothing is known of John C. Wheeler beyond what little can be gleaned from the collection. He was evidently a dealer in carpets and woolen goods in Oxford, Pennsylvania in the early 19th century.


Scope and Contents of the Collection

The John C. Wheeler Account Book consists of one handmade volume listing sales of carpet, by the yard. Occasionally other related items are listed, such as woollen yarn or carpet filling.
