Walter Crane (1845-1915) was an English artist and illustrator associated with the Arts and Crafts Movement. He was particularly known for his children's book illustrations.
The Walter Crane Correspondence consists of two letters written by Crane. The first letter is dated 4 Feb 1894 and written on "13 Holland St., Kensington W." letterhead. It is addressed to "Miss Constance Maud," possibly Constance Elizabeth Maud, the female author and suffragette. Crane agrees to read a manuscript of Maud's that she asked him to illustrate.
The second letter is dated 17 Feb 1899. The name it is addressed to is illegible, but he or she appears to have been associated with the Manchester Technical School (now The University of Manchester). The note also makes reference to the Leeds FireClay Company.
