Assistance

  • Technology Support and Loan
  • One-on-One Technology Assistance

The Technology Support and Loan desk located in the Learning Commons 1st floor is where you can find help with the following:

  • Logging into S.U. resources
  • Printing assistance, including basic print setup options, for both the black and white and color printing
  • Scanning assistance including basic scanning setup and scanning options
  • Basic inquiries regarding Microsoft Office such as formatting, saving, etc.
  • Basic Adobe inquires  including creating a new document, saving of documents, resizing, and assistance with simple features like color adjustment and font sizing
  • Basic assistance with best file types to use for any given situation.
  • Assistance with minor issues on your laptop
    • Connecting to internet, etc. (accessing ITS webpage)
  • Assistance with minor issues on library loaner laptops
    • Connecting to internet, etc.
    • Printing assistance
    • Basic software assistance (Office, etc.)

One-on-one Digitizing Sessions is a service provided by the UTS department to SU students, faculty and staff who need assistance with video or audio projects (capturing, basic editing and exporting). The service is provided to library patrons as a self-serve or one-on-one session, depending on their technical needs.

These services are provided by appointment only. Please contact us at uts@syr.edu to schedule a session. The UTS lab is located in the lower level of Bird Library.

Time

Appointments can be made for times between 10:00 am - 8:00 pm Monday through Friday.  We ask that you please book at least 24 hours in advance.
