Learning Commons Technology

The Technology desk located in the Bird Library Learning Commons 1st floor is where you can find help with the following:

  • Printers
    • Wireless printing setup (Mac/Windows laptops)
    • Assistance with large format printing to the Learning Commons Plotter (up to 3 feet wide by 100 feet long)
    • General printing assistance
  • Wireless
    • Wireless connection setup/troubleshooting (OS X, Windows, Chromebooks)
  • Copy Machines
    • Basic assistance with reductions, enlargements, double-sided etc…
    • Assistance with scanning features (scan to e-mail or USB drive)
    • Assistance with printing features (print from USB drive)
  • Guests/Visitors Wireless and Printing – Assistance with wireless connectivity through the following methods:
    • Self-sponsored
    • SU-sponsored (only current SU faculty, staff or students can sponsor guests)
    • EDUROAM (secure wireless connectivity for faculty, staff or students visiting from a participating university)
  • Mobile
    • Assistance with wireless connectivity and SU mail setup for mobile devices (iOS, Android and Windows Phone 8.1)
  • Scanners
    • Assistance with image scanning and single or multi-page PDF creation
  • Logging into SU resources.
  • Basic inquiries regarding Microsoft Office such as formatting, saving, etc….
  • Basic Adobe inquiries including creating a new document, saving, resizing and assistance with simple features like color adjustment and font sizing.
  • Assistance with libraries loaner laptops.
