Maps and Cartography

Maps depict the human interactions with, and the physical features of, the planet on which we live.

The Map collection in the E.S. Bird Library contains over 175,000 maps, 4,500 atlases, and 50,000 maps in microform. There is also a collection of aerial photography for New York State, a travel file and a large collection of Sanborn Atlases on microfilm for New York State and other northeastern states.
