Syracuse University Library has begun subscriptions to a number of journals available in electronic format. In some cases due to contractual arrangements, the library will receive both the paper and electronic formats of the journals. As new journals are added in this format, I shall update this list. Electronic format will allow access to these materials from outside the library on a 24 hour 7 days per week basis. Syracuse University faculty, staff, and students will be able to access these periodicals from off-campus locations using the "proxy server" currently used for external access to the library's databases. If your computer is not set up to use the "proxy server" follow the "Instructions for Remote Access to Electronic Resources." You can access these journals directly from the links given below.

A quarterly designed for legal practitioners, those who work in areas other than law, and all who value the cultural and historical environment. Select this journal from the alphabetized listing in the left column on the Kluwer Law International page link.

An international journal for professionals in the fields of mental
health and education.

British Journal of Aesthetics (vol.39 no.4 Oct. 1999 to present)
Published to promote study, research, and discussion of the fine arts and related types of experience from a philosophical, psychological, sociological, scientific, historic, critical, and educational standpoint.

International Journal of Art & Design Education (vol. 19 2000 to present)

Journal of Aesthetic Education (vol. 37 2003 to present)

Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism (vols. 1-56, 1941-1998)
Publishes current research articles, special issues, and timely book reviews on aesthetics and the arts.

A international journal for readers interested in the application of contemporary science and technology to the arts and music.

Modernism/Modernity (Jan. 1995 to present)
Concentrating on the period roughly from 1860 to the present, this journal focuses on the methodological, archival, and theoretical exigencies particual to modernist studies. It encourages an interdisciplinary approach linking music, architecture, the visual arts, literature, and social and intellectual history.

Museum International (vol.49 1997 to present)

Museum Management & Curatorship (vol.16 1997 to present)
This journal provides authoritative, up-to-date and independent consideration of key issues in the field.

Representations (no. 1 1983 to 4 years of current date)
An interdisciplinary journal that publishes articles on literature, history, art history, anthropology, and social theory.

DESIGN:

Design Issues (vol.16 2000 to present)
The first American academic journal to examine design history, theory, and criticism, this jouranl provokes inquiry into the cultural and intellectual issues surrounding design.

WWD (Women's Wear Daily) (daily plus archive)
All the day's news stories, international and domestic trade show calendars, and classified listings.

FILM:

Camera Obscura (vol. 15 2000 to present)
Provides innovative feminist perspectives on film, television, and visual media.

Cinema Journal (vol.31 no.1 Fall 1999 to present)
Sponsored by the Society for Cinema Studies. This journal presents recent scholarship by its 1000+ members (faculty, graduate students, archivists, filmmakers, and others devoted to the art of the moving image).

Syracuse University Library subscribes to a number of databases that include selected full-text articles in a wide-range of disciplines. Individuals who use these full-text sources via the databases should be aware that many of the articles while full-text are lacking the illustrations of the originals.
