Troubleshooting Remote Access to Library Resources
If you have been unsuccessful connecting to library resources, please review our troubleshooting suggestions.
Verify that you are a currently enrolled student, faculty, or staff member. Call the E.S. Bird Library Circulation at (315) 443-5727 to verify your status.
When prompted to log in, enter:
- Enter your NetID and Password. For users who are affiliated with the library and cannot obtain a NetID enter your 10 digit SUID number (without spaces) as the NetID and enter your last name (all lowercase) as the password.
Please note: If you are a Jr., Sr., II, III, IV, etc. or have a hyphenated last name and you are having trouble authenticating, please fill out the help request form below or call the E.S. Bird Library Reference Desk at (315) 443-4083 to verify how your last name appears in our database.
Set your browser to accept cookies.
- Netscape 7.x: Click on EDIT > PREFERENCES> PRIVACY & SECURITY (click on arrow to open a menu). Select COOKIES, then choose: ENABLE ALL COOKIES.
- Netscape 4.x: Click on EDIT > PREFERENCES> ADVANCED (click on word). On the lower right-hand side of this screen, there will be a box with a number of COOKIES settings to choose from. Choose ACCEPT ALL COOKIES.
- Internet Explorer 6.x: Click on TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS> PRIVACY. Set the privacy slider to Medium or lower. Select ADVANCED for additional cookie control.
- Internet Explorer 5.x: Click on TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS> SECURITY, Select the INTERNET icon and then CUSTOM LEVEL. Under COOKIES, select ENABLE.
Be sure your javascript is turned on (browser default).
Javascript needs to be enabled for the proxy service to work.
- Netscape 7.x: Click on EDIT> PREFERENCES> ADVANCED> Select ENABLE JAVASCRIPT FOR NAVIGATOR.
- Netscape 4.x - : Click on EDIT> PREFERENCES> ADVANCED. Select ENABLE JAVASCRIPT.
- Internet Explorer: Click on TOOLS> INTERNET OPTIONS> SECURITY> CUSTOM LEVEL. Under SCRIPTING, select ENABLE for all.
