Pop Music and English History
 
 
Here are some books and Internet sources that can be used to find a significant event or things that changed history on which you can focus your research for this paper. It is suggested that you could use pictures, music or video to help define your topic. They can be found in the books and scanned or the Internet and downloaded. “A picture is worth a thousand words” and can help to clarify or exemplify your topic. Remember that Media (radio, film, TV, newspaper and magazines are an important part of history today. Make use of them. Also make sure you are using reliable and scholarly sources. Check for current and correct information and the background of the author or organization.

There are many music resources on the Internet, which you can find with a search engine. Here you can find discographies of artist music and other information. You may even find music clips to hear their songs. There are also song lyrics, which may be interesting to interpret.
 
On the 4th floor in Bird Library there is a music listening area. To find our what records, tapes or cd’s they have check the Summit catalog http://summit.syr.edu/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?DB=local&PAGE=First
You can listen to them in the Listen Area of the Library.
