The Media Services Department provides resource assistance utilizing multimedia, digital, video, audio and microform resources. Departmental resources include 14 multimedia development computer workstations, an additional 20 computer workstations for accessing general and specialized library applications and software, 16 videocassette and DVD viewing stations and facilities for audio listening, microform viewing and slide viewing.

Also available are adaptive technology resources for students with special needs, three digital still cameras for 24-hour loan, and 16mm film viewing. The Media Services Collections include nearly 1,000 CDROMs and other electronic files; over 11,000 video recordings; 6,000 audio recordings; and two million microforms.

Currently the Department provides resources and services, such as required interactive computer sessions or video cassette viewing, directly supporting over 30 courses enrolling over 1,500 students. Faculty may request videos or films from our collection to show in class sessions. The Media Office will also try to locate and obtain, on a rental basis, video or film titles not owned by the library through its Film and Video Distribution service.
