Digital Programs and Systems
The Digital Programs and Systems (DPS) unit supports all aspects of the Syracuse University Libraries’ digital initiatives and computing needs. The unit specifically administers network operations, desktop support, digital programs, systems, servers, ILS system (Voyager) support, and web-based interface services. The mission of DPS is to provide the technical support and tools necessary to the Syracuse University community for the access of information in the pursuit of teaching, research, advancement of knowledge and scholarly collaboration.
The top priorities of the DPS unit are:
- Coordinate major technology and digital activities of SU libraries to support responsive and innovative services to users.
- Provide leadership in library technology and digital library development and implementation.
- Develop strategies for deployment and recommend emerging trends new technologies for the libraries.
- Ensure the continuous improvement of Library technical, digital and information management services.
- Collaborate and offer innovative leadership in directing the evolution, development and management of both traditional and new modes of information access with emphasis on the expansion of digital Library services.
