Print Times
Print times will vary by paper type and printer. Heavier ink
coverage and higher (> 300 ppi) resolution files will increase
print time and will require longer drying time.
Please review the table below for average inkjet printing
times for a file measuring 24" x 36" with moderate ink
coverage. Recommendations for drying times are also provided.

Paper Size and Print Area
Our large-format paper comes on 36" wide rolls. The
allowable print area is 35.5" with a margin of approximately
.25" automatically added by the printing software to each
side of the file content. Files supplied with a 36" width
will require a 2% reduction in order to fit the 35.5" print
area. If the scale of your document is important, you can avoid
this reduction by specifying one dimension of your file as 35.5"
and removing any margins on those sides. We can then print your
file centered on the 36" wide paper; the automatic addition
of the .25" margin by the software will replace the white
space present in your original file.

Tiling
Files measuring 17" or smaller can be automatically tiled side-by-side
to make best use of 36" paper (35.5" print area). If you
would like to use the tiling feature, please be sure that your file
dimensions are no larger than 17 inches, as even 17.001" will
cause the printer to tile differently and waste paper. You will
be charged for the paper your files require to print as they are
provided to us.

Unsupported File Formats
We do not support the native file
formats of Illustrator, FreeHand, AutoCAD, InDesign, or
Quark. However, most of these programs provide the option
to save or export in another format such as TIFF, PDF, or
EPS, which we do support.

Not Recommended
For reasons of print quality, we do not recommend
printing JPG, GIF or any file with a resolution under 150
ppi. This would include almost anything taken from the
Internet. Such files usually have a resolution between 72
and 96 ppi, which is an appropriate range for online viewing
but not for printing.
If you still have questions about how to supply
your file for printing, please give us a call. We are happy
to help you!
