Under the direction of the Director of Collection Development, and in consultation with subject specialists and faculty, bibliographers evaluate, strengthen, and promote the collections of the Syracuse University Library in alignment with the research, teaching, and learning needs of the University.

The Syracuse University Library collection comprises more than 2.95 million volumes.  It includes approximately 15,000 current serials, and more than 6,000 subscribed electronic journals.   

The Library is a member of the Association of Research Libraries, Portico, LOCKSS, and belongs to the Northeast Research Library Consortium.
