Using InfoMarks from Infotrac to Create PURLs |
| Note: It is very important that you NOT skip the last step as this step ensures access to off-campus students. | ||||||||||||
| 1. Search the database and display the desired article. | ||||||||||||
| 2. Check to be sure there is an InfoMark icon at the top of the page. The appearance of this icon means that the URL of the page is considered persistent and can be copied or bookmarked. | ||||||||||||
![]() |
| 3. Copy the URL from your browser's address window and paste it into your document or Blackboard form (usually a Course Document or External Link Add form.) | ||||||||||||
4. Add the required SU Library prefix to ensure that off-campus users can log in and view the item. The required prefix is: http://libezproxy.syr.edu/login?url= For example, the persistent URL for an article in Infotrac might be: http://web6.infotrac.galegroup.com/itw/infomark/866/625/35669037w6/purl=rc1_EAIM_0_A91089 With the required prefix it would look like this: http://libezproxy.syr.edu/login?url=http://web6.infotrac.galegroup.com/itw/infomark/866/625/356
