Using Link Pickup in FirstSearch to Create PURLs |

| 1. Locate and display the desired item. | |||||||||||||||
| 2. Click Link Pickup from the retrieval options. | |||||||||||||||

3. Copy the resulting IP-address recognition URL for direct article access. These URLs can be fairly long. For example, the URL for the article below would be: http://firstsearch.oclc.org/FSIP?sici=0737-5328200223%2929%3A4%3C101%ARBTATU%E&dbn |

| 4. Paste the URL into your document or the Blackboard form (usually the Course Documents or External Links Add form). | |||||||||||||||
