Historical Note

Photograph of Zeta Psi Class of 1910

The Gamma Chapter of Zeta Psi Fraternity started at Syracuse University in 1875 and was located at 805 University Avenue. With seven charter members, Zeta Psi became the fourth fraternity at Syracuse. Later moving to 727 Comstock Avenue, Zeta Psi had several periods of inactivity: 1887-1905, 1973-1975, and 1993-1998. The Gamma Chapter has been dormant at Syracuse University since 2007 when it became inactive with the national fraternity, although a few attempts have been made to bring Zeta Psi back on campus. The Syracuse University Association of Zeta Psi continues to own and lease 727 Comstock Avenue.
