Biography

William T. HulseWilliam Theodore Hulse graduated from Syracuse University's College of Law in 1914. While pursuing his bachelor's degree, Hulse was involved with a number of University clubs and organizations. He was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta, Phi Delta Phi, and Theta Nu Epsilon fraternities, he was on the freshman and varsity track teams, and he served as class secretary in his sophomore and senior years.

Scope and Content Note

The William T. Hulse Papers comprises certificates, photographs, correspondence, memorabilia, and other materials related to his time at Syracuse University. The certificates document his extracurricular positions and affiliations, as well as his status as a fraternity brother. The photographs include a single photograph of him participating in a track and field event, his graduation portrait, and group photographs, most likely with his fellow fraternity brothers. Additionally, the collection includes correspondence sent to Hulse in preparation for his arrival to the University as well as memorabilia from various athletics events he attended.

Related Material

Five dance cards for Phi Gamma Delta events were removed from the William T. Hulse Papers and added to the Phi Gamma Delta Collection. A Syracuse University plaque with the University seal and a leather pillowcase with a Syracuse block "S" were moved to the Syracuse University Memorabilia Collection . Two Syracuse University calendars from 1913 were added to a collection of SU calendars in the Syracuse University Printed Materials Reference Collection. A commencement program from 1914 was added to the Syracuse University Commencement Reference Collection. A program for a University track meet was added to the Syracuse University Athletics Reference Collection. A newspaper clipping was removed and added to the clipping files.
