Howard Hinsdale Bell (1924-2011) graduated Magna Cum Laude from Syracuse University in 1946 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.

While at Syracuse, Bell was an active member of Pi Sigma Rho, the political science honorary, and Tau Theta Upsilon, the senior men's honorary.
