Biographical History

Robert E. Sharer was chief of a division of the Michigan Department of Experimental Adult Education in the 1940's. Later he was Director, Office of Adult Education Programs in Continuing Educaticn (1958-63) and Director, Evening College (1963-68) at Michigan State University. He was Executive Director of the Adult Education Association of the U.S.A., 1968-70. Among his earlier posts, he was Vice-President, Adult Education, of the National Education Association.


Scope and Contents of the Collection

The Robert E. Sharer Papers extend from material from Sharer's years in the Michigan State adult education programs (1944-1967) such as correspondence, articles, reports and other material, to his writings (1948-1971).
