Scope and Contents of the Collection

The Margaret L. Coit Papers consist of correspondence and manuscript drafts of Mr. Baruch, her biography of Bernard Barcuch. According to correspondence in our files, Ms Coit had completed the manuscript of her book when a falling-out with Baruch forced her to rewrite it. The manuscript version thus differs considerably from the final version published by Houghton Mifflin.
