Acknowledgements

In addition to the individuals and organizations that have generously contributed to the collections and material that comprise the Charters Library of Resources, acknowledgements are due to the following individuals for their efforts in organizing this material and making it accessible.

As detailed in Syracuse University Resources for Educators of Adults: A Retrospective View -- Looking into the Future (see pp. 6-17), the history of the Charters Library collections at Syracuse University is liberally sprinkled with faculty, staff and administrators who fostered its growth and maturation. Each of these men and women deserves a vote of thanks.

Many individuals over the years prepared guides, bibliographies, lists and other helpful reference works which were published by Syracuse University Publications in Continuing Education (SUPCE) as their MSS Series (please refer to the SUPCE finding aid for a complete list of publications and authors). To each of these, we extend our grateful thanks.

Before it was known as the Charters Library of Resources for Educators of Adults, these collections comprised the Library of Continuing Education (LCE). B.J. Vaughn (director) and Alice Smith (staff) contributed greatly to making LCE a successful venture and laying the groundwork for its current incarnation by collecting, processing, and making accessible a great deal of the material.

The staff of Syracuse University Libraries have given unstintingly of their time and expertise through the years. Particular thanks are due to Mark Weimer, Christian Dupont, and Sean Quimby, the former and current directors of Special Collections, for their support; Terry Keenan, Special Collections Librarian; Carolyn Davis, Reader Services Librarian; Amy Doherty, University Archivist; and Michele Combs, Librarian for Manuscripts and Archives Processing, for her work processing collections, generating web-accessible finding aids, and maintaining the Charters Library website. A special word of thanks goes to Bill Lee, who over the years has tirelessly and accurately accessioned, stored, and retrieved hundreds of boxes of Charters Library material.
