The men and women of all parts of the County of Madison are invited to assemble for the discussion of this question in PETERBORO, Sunday Oct. 23d, Sunday Oct. 30th, and Sunday Nov. 6th. Each Meeting to begin at 10 A. M. and close at 3 P. M.
The dramshop has made our land a land of sighs and tears and broken hearts and blood. It has so far corrupted the public sentiment, as to render it uncertain whether our political and religious institutions can much longer be sustained --- can much longer escape the abyss of anarchy and infidelity. In New York and Brooklyn alone are twelve thousand dramshops ; and from these comes a murder as often, on an average, as every twenty-four hours.
The Republican and Democratic parties both persist in the satanci policy of licensing and multiplying dramshops. Can a christian vote for either? Can a christian refuse to vote for the Anti-dramshops. Can a christian vote for either? Can a christian refuse to vote for the Anti-dramshop party? --- a party, which is organized for the one purpose of suppressing all dramshops --- a party, which is organized for one purpose of suppressing all dramshops --- and of shutting up forever these "breathing holes of hell?"
