RefWorks Help from SU Library

RefWorks allows you to save and store citations, generate bibliographies in different styles (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago) and, using Write-N-Cite, add references to a paper and format the reference list. When connecting to RefWorks, you will be asked to log in. If you have not already created an individual account, you will need to click on "Sign Up for an Individual Account" and create your login and password.

You can import references from a number of online databases, the SUMMIT catalog, or other bibliographic management tools, or you can manually enter the information into RefWorks. Several database providers, including CSA, EBSCO, and Ei Engineering Village, provide a direct export link (see the complete list of service providers). There are known import problems with some databases, including FirstSearch/PsycINFO, FirstSearch/ERIC and SocAbstracts. Please contact us if you identify additional databases that do not import correctly, so that we can work to resolve the problem.

SU Library's RefWorks subscription includes RefShare, an add-on module that provides a quick and easy way to share your entire RefWorks database or specific folders with other researchers, further enhancing collaborative research. You can share your RefWorks references with members of the SU community and globally with any researcher who has access to the Internet.

RefWorks is accessible from off-campus. Please see Instructions for RefWorks Off Campus Access.
