Global Health contains information from journals, books, book chapters, conference proceedings, patents, theses and electronic only publications from more than 150 countries, going back to1973. A significant proportion of this material is unique to Global Health. Subject coverage includes international health, biomedical life sciences, communicable and non-communicable diseases, public health nutrition, food safety and hygiene, occupational health, toxicology, health services, and maternal/child health. This database offers global coverage of both the developing and developed world with items in over 50 languages translated into English

The Library has a trial of the Sage 2010 Deep Backfile package. The Sage Deep Backfile Package provides access to over 400 Sage journals in the fields of business, humanities, social science, and science, technology, and medicine with content back to volume 1, issue 1. America History in Video from Alexander Street Press

SU Library is offering SU students, staff and faculty free access on a trial basis to the Alexander Street Press collection, American History in Video. This repository of well over 5,000 online videos covers documentary footage, commercial and government newsreels, public affairs and archival films created during the entirety of the 20th century. Time periods discussed reach back to the 16th century. Content includes sources such as PBS and History Channel productions, National Archives & Records Administration recordings and additional documentaries from Rich Media Learning, Bullfrog Films, California Newsreel, Universal Newsreel and the like. Footage ranges from the briefest of silent newsreel clips to contemporary hour or longer filmed documentaries, recorded U.S. Presidential inaugural addresses and more. Other features allow students and faculty to retrieve extensively indexed visual content using a highly flexible search engine. Results can be viewed as embedded video, full screen video, or thumbnail images and include full text searchable transcripts for recorded audio. Students and faculty can save the videos of greatest interest to personal playlists. Additionally, a user friendly clip making tool allows creation of shorter clips from longer recordings. Videos and clips can be embedded in class projects/presentations or class websites (Blackboard, etc.) using durable URLs. Any such duplication and sharing of the content must be for academic, non-commercial purposes only.

The PRAVDA DIGITAL ARCHIVE from Eastview Press is available for a trial period.

The most widely read and referenced news source from the Soviet era is now available online in full-text and full-image back to its inception in 1912 up to the end of 2009. East View has converted Pravda microfilm to an online digital resource that is fully searchable.
Researchers will be able to research the chief chronicle of Russian and Soviet history, from the beginnings of the Russian Revolution through World War II, the Cold War, the fall of the Soviet Union, and everything in between.

Eighteenth Century Journals I is drawn from the Hope Collection at the Bodleian Library, and includes 76 rare journals printed between 1693 and 1793. A particular strength is eighteenth century drama, with over 19 titles relating to the theatre.

Eighteenth Century Journals II from the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center, University of Texas is a critical resource for the study of all aspects of the eighteenth century offering a wide variety of newspapers and periodicals (1699-1812) which are not available elsewhere.

In addition, this database offers access to an immense bibliography of music and to thousands of English-language translations of foreign documents. Approximately 20,000 records are added annually. Plans are currently underway to expand RIPM's coverage to include Latin America. RIPM is produced under the auspices of the International Musicological Society (IMS) and the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres (IAML).
