The Belfer curators work to build the Belfer Audio Archive’s collections primarily by accepting donations of sound recordings, and occasionally by purchasing audio materials.

We are interested in donations of audio recordings, of both music and speech, on particular media:

  • non-commercial recordings on open-reel tapes and other media (in particular, radio programs, oral histories, speeches, etc.)
  • cylinder recordings
  • 78 rpm discs (particularly rare labels)
  • LP discs (only 10” discs or 12” discs issued before 1970)
  • 45 rpm discs

We welcome financial contributions that help us to acquire, preserve, and provide access to the Belfer Audio Archive's audio collections. All gifts are fully tax-deductible contributions to Syracuse University.

To make a gift, visit Syracuse University's secure, online giving site at Please specify "Belfer Audio Archive" in the comments box.
