Whether you're going back to school or just doing personal research, there are a number of citation managers that can help you to keep your references organized and to generate your own bibliographies. Here are just some of the freely available ones that you can use:

Zotero is another citation organizer that is freely available and works in your own web browser. Similar to RefWorks, you can use it to collect and organize your references.

Another resource you can use is Mendeley, a free reference manager and academic social network. In addition to its online collaborative features, it is also includes a desktop client for managing PDF files.
