Biographical information
Since arriving at Syracuse University Library in 1997, Suzanne Preate has served as an Internet Trainer and Web Developer, an Information Services Librarian, responsible for reference service and OPAC/web development and a Digital Imaging Librarian responsible for co-building and managing the Digital Imaging Services Center (DISC), a full production digital imaging and printing lab serving the needs of the students, faculty and staff of Syracuse University.
Suzanne has served on many Library and University committees, including the Strategic Planning, Web Development and OPAC Committees, the University Senate and its Administrative Services Committee.
Suzanne has served on various ALA committees, including LITA’s Technology and Access Committee as web coordinator and as co-chair of the Digital Library Technologies Interest Group (DLTIG). Regionally, Suzanne is an active member of the Eastern New York Chapter of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ENY/ACRL), serving on the Program Committee and serving a second (elected) term as Membership Chair. Suzanne is also the Treasurer and web developer for the Pi Lambda Sigma Chapter of Beta Phi Mu, the International Library and Information Studies Honor Society.
