BiographyPamela Whiteley McLaughlin is the Director of Communications and External Relations at Syracuse University Library, where she manages the unit responsible for promoting the Library and its services and mission to campus and other constituencies. McLaughlin has held a number of prior positions at Syracuse, including Director of Digital Library Development, Head of Access and Digital Services, and Electronic Resources Librarian. She began her professional career as a librarian at Penfield Library at the SUNY College at Oswego. She is a member of the Council on University Communications and has been an adjunct faculty member in the SU School of Information Studies. McLaughlin is chair of the executive board of the New York Higher Education Initiative (NYSHEI) and has held leadership positions in a number of other professional organizations. She is a frequent speaker, singer, trainer and consultant in the region. She holds a B.A. in music from the SUNY College at Oswego and an M.L.S. from the Syracuse University School of Information Studies. |
