Planned Giving

Planned GivingPlanned giving is just that—a carefully considered strategy for giving.

It’s also an opportunity to meet your charitable goals at a level you never thought possible—and at the same time, provide a financially secure future for you and your family.

You can choose to give an outright gift or defer your giving through a bequest. You can even take advantage of a charitable gift annuity or other life-income gift that enables you to establish a legacy now, and still provides you with an income during your lifetime.

The University’s planned giving experts will work in partnership with you and your legal, tax, and other advisors to design strategies and an integrated giving plan that will help you:

  • Establish a personal legacy
  • Earn income and lower taxes
  • Save taxes on transfers to heirs
  • Ensure financial security
  • Avoid the retirement plan tax trap

If you're already considering certain giving options, simply click on Compare Gift Plans and choose the gifts that most interest you.

Donor Spotlight

Marc '64 and Pamela Seigle

When Marc lost a dear friend, the Seigles wanted to honor him and his extensive interest in the 1920s trial of Sacco and Vanzetti. Marc and Pamela created a named endowment with a cash gift to help the SU Libraries expand its collection of 20th century American radicalism.
