Designate your gift to "SU Library"
Syracuse University Library Associates was founded by Chancellor William Pearson Tolley (1942-69) in 1953 because, as he said, “A great university must have a great library.” For over fifty years, Library Associates has strengthened the SU Library, focusing on the Library’s vast collections of rare books, manuscripts, and special collections.
Each Library Associate makes a minimum $50 annual gift to the Library. Library Associates encourage bequests, planned gifts, and even purchase of rare books. Special Library Associate projects such as the Antje Bultmann Lemke Seminar Room ($150,000) and the Rare Book Acquisitions Endowment (more than $10,000 annually) have made significant contributions to the Library.
Library Associates gifts also help contribute to the endowment that funds the Mary Hatch Marshall Essay Award, awarded annually for the best essay written by a graduate student in the humanities at the University.
