Libraries and Locations

Bird Library

Bird Library houses materials in the humanities and social sciences. Here you will also find audiovisual resources, government publications, and maps.  It is also home to the Learning Commons, an open, active environment where you can get research assistance, meet with a group, or study on your own, the Special Collections Research Center, University Archives, Library administrative offices, and Pages, the library cafe.

Carnegie Library

The Carnegie Library is located in the Carnegie Building on the Quad. Subject areas covered include: biology, chemistry, engineering and computer science, library science, mathematics, military and naval science, nutrition science and dietetics, photography, public health, physics & astronomy, and technical arts and crafts.

Architecture Reading Room

The Architecture Reading Room, located on the 3rd floor of Slocum Hall, serves the needs of the School of Architecture, the faculty, and its students for quick access to course reserves, current periodical titles, and reference works.

Belfer Audio Archive

The Belfer Audio Archive holds a distinguished collection of historic audio recordings that includes late 19th and 20th century commercial popular, classical, jazz and spoken word recordings, as well as broadcasts and other unique non-commercial recordings, and recordings of Syracuse University events. All services are provided through the Special Collections Research Center, Bird Library, 6th floor.

Syracuse University Libraries Facility

The Syracuse University Libraries Facility ("The Facility") is a newly constructed 20,000 square foot high-density storage facility that will house approximately 1.2 million volumes. Providing an ideal environment of 50 degrees and 30% humidity, the facility significantly extends the life of library materials and allows for overall growth in SU Libraries' collections.
